I may still be jobless but I decided to spend $40 on an entry into the Applied Arts Student Awards 2009. Applied Arts is a Canada based arts magazine that is distributed internationally. The series won the Photographic Category section :) It will be published in the magazines September Issue and also displayed in an exhibition in Toronto, Canada! Lets hope I get a job so I can afford to go. I also started my Production Assistant job for Steven Klein today. I got to send something to Madonnas house. The perks of working for free. He is shooting for American Vogue on Monday. I am excited to see if its a different work environment to British Vogue!

Steven Klein Production Assistant
I have been appointed by the lovely Taryn Waldman - Steven Klein's Production Manager. I am now his assistant production coordinator working on all shoot and prep days. My OPT Visa is now valid, I am earning some money and I can stay in NYC for the summer until I decide what the next step is :) Steven is also probably one of the only fashion photographers I have consistently liked. He has a highly sexualised, dark vision and reminds me of a contemporary Helmut Newton / Guy Bourdin.
