Ying and Yang

Have you ever noticed how you have a really good day and it is generally followed by a bad day! Well that seems to occur to me. Like yesterday I received a letter telling me I am in the final of Photographer's Forum Best of College Photography 2009 and will be published in their hardback book (winners TBA) and then today after waiting for months and months The Brighton Calman Crane Gallery told me my work was too big to be included in their 'best of graduates' show - gutted :( 

But you know what I have learnt - this industry is full of people who approach you and build your hopes up then let you down and you just have to pick yourself up and soldier on bigger and better than before! It would be nice if it was less of a disappointment sometimes though! 

Fuji Distinction Awards 2008

So out of 3000 images they picked 30 merit winners, and I am honored that The Dining Room was chosen as one! The 30 chosen images are on display at the Bayeaux Gallery in London's marvelous Soho! Its on for 8 weeks so if anyone is around there can you take a snap for me cos I don't know what it looks like :(

PDN EMERGING PHOTOGRAPHERS AWARD 2008

oooooo yeah something got noticed in America! Maybe this is the start of something :) I Want to be Just Like You was given an Honorable Mention in the PDN Emerging Photographers Award and they are publishing The Swimming Pool Scene! Finally some good US news!
